Computerized Muscle and Nerve Scan

Our computerized muscle and nerve scan state-of-the-art technology objectively helps us:

Detect areas of nerve disturbance

The computerized muscle and nerve scan will analyze the nerve supply to the organs and glands as well as the muscles and joints. Therefore we will be able to determine the cause of your health condition or if something is developing in your body that you’re not aware of before it surfaces.

Document and monitor your results to deliver the appropriate chiropractic care

At your initial visit you will have your first computerized muscle and nerve scan as well as a complete physical examination which will be thoroughly discussed with you and a loved one if you prefer at your next available visit to report our findings and recommendations for care.

Following a period of muscle and nerve scan treatment, you will be re-examined and the previous tests will be re-done to note improvement. A brief meeting will be set up afterwards to review those findings and share any improvements from the previous examination with you as well. At that time future recommendations will be made to continue the healing process in an effort to get you to maximum chiropractic improvement. Future recommendations may include diet, exercise, stretching, vitamins  (supplements) to help accelerate the healing process.

Our goal is to get your nervous system which controls your entire body to work at its optimum

How Does The Scan Work?

Using a hand held instrument which has infra-red sensors it will detect temperature changes along your spine which is caused by nerve interference in these spinal structures.

It also will detect electrical activity caused by muscular imbalance along the spinal structures.

Control Muscles

A SEMG scan measures the electrical current of the muscles.

Surface Electromyography (SEMG Scan)

Your muscles are controlled by nerves.  The SEMG measures how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of current found in the muscles.  Subluxations (misalignments) disturb the function of the nerve causing an abnormal amount of electrical current flowing to your muscles (indicated by colors and/or abnormal patterns).

Muscle Balance

The percentage readings on the graph indicate areas where the muscles along the spine are pulling harder.

Muscle Balance (Symmetry)

Muscle Balance is extremely important because the vertebrae in the spine depend on the muscles to move properly.  If one or more vertebrae are out of their normal position, it disturbs nerve function.  This disturbance creates muscle imbalance caused by an abnormal amount of electrical current in the muscles on either side of the spine.  As a result of this disturbance, the muscles can become weaker or stronger, tighter, or fatigued.  The abnormal muscle pattern on the scan reveals an increased amount of tension/pull on one side compared to the other (similar to a Tug-of-War).
